Safety

paint tinsSafety. An increasingly important aspect of the maintenance cycle of your building is to ensure that the contractor that you choose is competent and able to carry out the tasks required in a safe manner that will not place either your staff, the public or themselves at risk. By carrying out initial site surveys, assessing the hazards at this stage means that we are better positioned to design our work method in a way that will either minimise or altogether eliminate any unsafe aspect of the works. Prior to commencement on site, site inductions are carried out with all of our operatives to familiarise them with the working conditions and potential hazards. Our safe systems of work has been independently verified by Safecontractor, and we are an approved contractor.

Operatives

All of our operatives are continually monitored in terms of the skills and training that they require to carry out the job safely. Where training needs are identified, suitable courses are sourced.

Equipment

colour card Where possible, we try to use powered access equipment ie cherry pickers or flying carpets. This tends to leave to buildings more secure as opposed to the inherent risk of having a building fully scaffolded. All operatives are fully harnessed into the machine whilst in use, and are IPAF licensed to use them. Only reputable suppliers are used.

Management

Safety cultures must be from 'top down'. If the management to not display a safety first attitude, then there is little or no chance that the man carrying out the works will. Regular inspections of the workplace, to inspect the quality of the work, are carried out in conjunction with safety audits., as work conditions sometimes vary from the start of the job to the completion. Risk assessments are carried out prior to commencement, and if necessary, fully detailed method statements are prepared. These then form part of the initial site induction. Our target is for zero incidents or accidents.
